Immunology

I am Deliana, a biologist from the Simón Bolívar University (Venezuela). I have been working in research laboratories since 2016. In 2019, I joined The Immunopathology Laboratory of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) as a research-associated professional, that is, a research assistant.

In the past, I have worked on elucidating the role of light-mediated Tyr phosphorylation of proteins in the phototransduction pathway and its importance for neural signaling. I am also a Master's student in Immunology at IVIC. Currently, I work on developing diagnostic tests based on the immunochromatography principle, monoclonal antibodies, and fusion proteins for therapeutic applications. In addition to that, I am also a member of the Regional Student Group of Bioinformatics, RSG-Venezuela, an initiative to promote the application and development of computational biology and bioinformatics in our country.

I really enjoy putting into practice what I have learned during my academic and professional years. I am a proactive, very curious, enthusiastic, and dedicated person, and as much as I love science, I love cooking, reading, and dancing.
