Hoya reports financial results for quarter ended December 31, 2009

Hoya Corporation today announced financial results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009. Net sales were 106.8 billion yen for the quarter, a 5.2% decrease from 112.7 billion yen in the same period last year. Operating income was 18.9 billion yen, a 13.8% increase from 16.6 billion yen in the same period last year, mainly due to increase in orders and productivity. Compared to the second quarter ended September 30, 2009, sustained recovery in orders since April resulted in an increase of both net sales and operating income. [More]
