Automatic Measurement of Ploidy Level and Aneuploidy in Plants and Animals
Ploidy determinations with the CyFlow® Ploidy Analyser are performed by the precise measurement of the total DNA content of individual nuclei extracted and stained with Partec CyStain® reagents, which can be derived from almost any plant or animal tissue. When used in combination with Partec CyStain® PI reagents, the relative genome size of plant and animal nuclei can also be determine on the CyFlow® Ploidy Analyser.
The CyFlow® Ploidy Analyser measures the DNA content of many thousands of individual nuclei within seconds or minutes. The result is displayed as a DNA histogram in real time on an 8” colour touchscreen together with the ploidy level. The automated, real-time ploidy analysis is extremely time- and cost- efficient.
