Monochromators

A monochromator is an optical device comprising prisms and reflectors that break light up into its spectral wavelengths so that one wavelength can be viewed or measured. The tool is extremely useful in determining the composition of a sample and for designing and testing optical systems to find out how energy will interact with the system.

The 9030DS consists of two 100 mm scanning monochromators placed in series in subtractive mode. Bandpass is determined by the width of an intermediate slit, but the 9030DS has a net output dispersion of zero because the monochromators are optically coupled so that the dispersion of the second grating cancels that of the first.
MSA-130 is a high-aperture double monochromator with the focal length of 130 mm, which operates in the modes of both addition and subtraction of dispersions. The monochromator operation modes are changed by switching of a selector knob from the position “Addition” to “Subtraction” and vice versa.
The DMc150 is the latest version of Bentham’s highly successful compact double monochromator. It is designed for use in systems where scattered light must be kept to a minimum.
The Oriel Cornerstone 260 1/4 m Monochromators are economical, fully automated, multi-grating instruments with dual output ports and exceptional optical performance. We offer a dual grating and a triple grating model; both were designed for fast, automated, continuous scanning over a broad spectral range.
The MS257 is a completely automated, efficient 1/4 m instrument, with enough versatility to satisfy most spectroscopy applications. It is an F/3.9 instrument with a focal length of 257.4 mm, usable as a monochromator or true flat field imaging spectrograph. Stray light is negligible, and there is no re-entrant spectra.
The Sciencetech 9030 monochromator is a compact, single grating scanning monochromator with 100 mm focal length (both output and input). It has a manual wavelength selector dial with an optional external motor drive for computerized control.
The EP200 Series monochromators are designed to measure a single wavelength of light in the range of 185–925nm. When used with Verity’s system controllers and the proper optical input path, the EP200 Series provides robust endpoint detection for production or research applications.
The H-10 Monochromator is a small, versatile instrument and has several applications.
The Mini-Chrom is a manually operated monochromator that utilizes a knob dial for wavelength selection. Rotation of the dial causes, via a precision lead screw/sine bar mechanism, rotation of the diffraction grating which positions the selected wavelength at the exit slit.
The Cornerstone 130 family of Oriel Monochromators supports two gratings simultaneously, which can be easily interchanged, has an integrated shutter, and is available with RS 232 and IEEE-488 interfaces or with USB 2.0. Its simplicity, high performance, and economical price make it an ideal instrument for research or OEM applications.
The M266 is a compact, versatile, high performance instrument for use as a monochromator and/or true flat field spectrograph. It has excellent throughput and low stray light.
The ML44 high-aperture compact monochromator is used for separation of monochromatic radiation, study of light sources and detectors, analytical problems solution and other applications within the 190-1200 nm spectral range.
The M300 is a high quality general purpose grating monochromator designed for use the UV, visible and infra-red regions.
M833 Standard version is a unique high-aperture double dispersive monochromator/spectrograph whose compact design combines high spectral resolution intrinsic for long-focus devices and extremely low stray light peculiar to double schemes.
For general-purpose laboratory work or academic applications, the Oriel 77250 1/8 m Monochromator is a smart and economical choice. This simple, manually operated 1/8 m instrument has good resolution, low stray light and is very versatile. A large family of slits and gratings give a wide range of bandpasses and broad spectral coverage.
For those applications where the scattered light performance of a single monochromator is not sufficient, the DTMc300 double monochromators are available.
The TMS300 system monochromator offers the same excellent optical performance as the TMc300 but offers even greater automation and system integration.
The TMc300 range of monochromators control grating position using precision gears and a microprocessor-controlled microstepping drive. Up to three gratings are mounted on a turret which can be rotated through 360° allowing software selection of grating type and position.
