Wyeth has announced that the jury in the cases of Janice Kydd v. Wyeth and Kathy Huber v. Wyeth in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas found in favor of Wyeth. The verdict came at the close of the first (damages) phase of this bifurcated (two-phase) trial.

"We are pleased with the jury's decision. The verdict was consistent with the evidence presented," says Lawrence V. Stein, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Wyeth.

The trial began on April 18, 2005 before The Honorable Gary Glazer. The plaintiffs alleged heart valve injury from the use of the diet drugs Pondimin and Redux, drugs once marketed by Wyeth. Several days prior to trial, plaintiffs' counsel voluntarily dismissed the lawsuits of two additional claimants. Plaintiffs' were represented by the Blizzard, McCarthy and Nabers and Williams Bailey law firms from Houston, Texas.
