Training course for obstetrician/gynecologist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Louisiana State University School of Medicine brings to you the 11th Annual New Orleans OB/GYN Board Review. This course is designed to help prepare the obstetrician/gynecologist for participation in the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology certification examination Part I and to prepare the re-certifying physician for the ABOG.

Program Information

The course gives a concise review of basic concepts in obstetrics and gynecology and the information pertinent to diagnosis and treatment of conditions seen in everyday practice in the following areas: general gynecology, obstetrics, high-risk obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, women's primary health care, urogynecology, pelvic surgery, ultrasound review, infectious diseases, normal and abnormal pregnancy, infertility.

This course is designed for Ob/Gyn residents, practicing Ob/Gyns, and any healthcare professionals interested in reviewing pertinent basic concepts in Ob/Gyn and the latest information on recent developments in diagnosis and treatment of conditions seen in every day Ob/Gyn practice.

Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Albert Diket, MD, is the course chair. Some highlights of the course include:

Target Audience

The activity was planned for residents completing their Ob/Gyn training, physicians seeking reviews before re-certifying, practicing physicians seeking updated skills, and practicing physicians from other primary care areas seeking an obstetrics and gynecology review.

  • Identify areas of weakness requiring further study
  • Recognize the format and style of Board questions
  • Apply the practice test taking skills acquired during the course
