Biogen Idec acquires Neurimmune subsidiary

Biogen Idec and Neurimmune Holding AG today announced that Biogen Idec has acquired a subsidiary of Neurimmune, which includes the world-wide rights to three pre-clinical immunotherapy programs. The three programs are focused on the discovery and development of novel human antibodies that address three central nervous system (CNS) targets: alpha-synuclein, tau and TDP-43.

Apexigen enters collaboration with Centocor R&D for antibody discovery

Apexigen, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a collaboration and worldwide license agreement with Centocor Research & Development, Inc. and its affiliates to utilize Apexigen's proprietary therapeutic antibody technologies to discover and develop monoclonal antibody drugs. AVEO's initiation of AV-299 Phase 2 trial for lung cancer triggers $750,000 milestone payment to XOMA

XOMA Ltd., a leader in the discovery and development of therapeutic antibodies, announced receipt of a $750,000 milestone payment under its collaboration with AVEO Pharmaceuticals, Inc.. The milestone payment resulted from AVEO's recent initiation of a Phase 2 clinical trial to evaluate its AV-299 antibody for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. AV-299 is a humanized antibody to hepatocyte growth factor (HGF).

Intercell to acquire Cytos' platform technology for monoclonal antibody discovery

Intercell AG today announced that it has signed an agreement with Cytos Biotechnology Ltd. to acquire Cytos' platform technology for monoclonal antibody discovery. The technology is based on expression cloning of monoclonal antibodies from human B-cells and enables the identification of anti-infective antibodies to prevent and treat infectious diseases.
