BTI's IPOXYN data on traumatic shock and ischemia to be presented at XIIIth MGH symposium

Boston Therapeutics, Inc., a public company registered with the SEC and a developer of diabetes therapeutics, announced today that experiments performed in the laboratory of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) faculty member Warren M. Zapol, MD, Emeritus Anesthetist-in-Chief and Director of the MGH Anesthesia Center for Critical Care Research, on BTI's new oxygen carrier for traumatic shock and ischemia, IPOXYNTM, will be presented at the "XIII International Symposium on Blood Substitutes and Oxygen Therapeutics" to be held July 27th-29th at MGH.

Non-invasive blood glucose monitor closer to market

People with diabetes could soon have a pain-free way to check their blood glucose levels. Researchers at the University of Missouri–St. Louis have developed a portable, inexpensive non-invasive blood glucose detector. The university has licensed patent rights for the device to St. Louis Medical Devices, Inc., a Missouri company headquartered at UMSL’s own startup company incubator – IT Enterprises, to bring the device to market.

The particles, called endothelial microparticles, are shed during the disease process as tiny blood vessels in the lungs, called pulmonary capillaries, are injured and die.

Two new studies report GOT may improve health outcomes of stroke patients

Preventing this damage has been impossible, until now, as many drugs don't cross the so-called blood-brain barrier, and those that do often don't work as intended. The data, obtained from cells, animals and ALI patients, suggest several potential therapeutic targets. DMP1 protein prevents endothelial cells to respond to VEGF
