Amarantus BioSciences, Inc., a biotechnology company developing new treatments and diagnostics for Parkinson's disease and Traumatic Brain Injury centred on its proprietary anti-apoptotis therapeutic protein MANF, today announced that it has acquired an exclusive option to license the LymPro Alzheimer's Diagnostic Blood Test from Memory Dx, LLC (MDx), formerly known as Provista Life Sciences, LLC.

Following a successful research collaboration with NJIT, Catalent Pharma Solutions of Somerset has announced that it has exclusively licensed innovative taste-making technology developed by NJIT Distinguished Professor Rajesh Dav-, who was the principal investigator of a research project funded by Catalent. The technology will mask the most challenging, unpleasant and bitter tasting pharmaceutical active ingredients.

New model of influenza transmission can provide real-time information about infections

A new model of influenza transmission, published in BioMed Central's open access journal BMC Medicine, using more detailed information about patterns and severity of infection than previous models, finds that cases and transmission rates of H1N1 during the 2009-2010 flu pandemic have been underestimated. This model can provide a more robust and accurate real-time estimate of infection during a pandemic, which will help health services prepare and respond to future outbreaks.
