Radiology is the medical specialty directing medical imaging technologies to diagnose and sometimes treat diseases. Originally it was the aspect of medical science dealing with the medical use of electromagnetic energy emitted by X-ray machines or other such radiation devices for the purpose of obtaining visual information as part of medical imaging.

These include radiochemistry, radiopharmacy, dosimetry and pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear and molecular imaging analysis, nuclear and molecular imaging instrumentation, radiation biology and radionuclide therapy. June-Key Chung, MD, PhD, from the Seoul National University College of Medicine will serve as editor-in-chief. He will be supported by an international editorial board.
