Acrongenomics, Inc. are pleased to announce that they have continued their support to Molecular Vision, an emerging developer of quantitative point-of-care (POC) diagnostic devices, by participating in its 2 million GBP funding round. Imperial Innovations Group plc (AIM: IVO, 'Imperial Innovations'), a leading technology commercialisation and investment company, led the £2 million funding round by committing £1.5 million.

"USDA has confirmed that hogs at the Minnesota State Fair may have screened positive for the novel H1N1 virus. USDA's National Veterinary Services Laboratories expects to have confirmatory results within the next few days. This event is not unexpected given that much like humans, hogs can contract influenza viruses.

Human populations may have some level of existing immunity to the pandemic H1N1 influenza, say researchers

University of California, Davis, researchers studying the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus, formerly referred to as "swine flu," have identified a group of immunologically important sites on the virus that are also present in seasonal flu viruses that have been circulating for years. These molecular sites appear to result in some level of immunity to the new virus in people who were exposed to the earlier influenza viruses.
