Analog Front-End Solution for Ultrasound Systems

Texas Instruments AFE5808A Eight-Channel Ultrasound Analog Front-End is a highly integrated Analog Front-End (AFE) solution specifically built for ultrasound systems in which high performance and small size are necessary. TI AFE5808A eight-Channel AFE integrates a full time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave Doppler (CWD) path. This TI device also allows users to choose one of the various power/noise combinations to enhance system performance.

The TI AFE5808A is an ideal ultrasound AFE solution for high-end and portable systems. It has eight channels of voltage controlled amplifier (VCA), CW mixer, and 14/12-bit analog-to-digital converter. The VCA includes low noise amplifier (LNA), programmable gain amplifier, voltage controlled attenuator (VCAT), and a low-pass filter.
