The Ziath DataPaq™ Cube Rack Reader is a compact, robust, versatile, and rapid scanner that requires minimal cabling. The instrument is a 2D datamatrix tube CMOS-camera reader that offers a scan and decode time of only 1–2 seconds on a “normal” computer. It can read all commercially available racks, including SBS racks, cryoboxes, and even 384 racks.

Easy to Set Up and Easy to Use Minutes after it is taken out of the box, the Ziath DataPaq™ Cube Rack Reader is ready for use. The instrument is delivered fully calibrated and is set to read all kinds of SBS format as well as Cryobox 2D barcoded tubes and racks. There is NO CUSTOMER SET-UP or RE-CALIBRATION needed.
Since Ziath’s patented DataPaq™ Cube is a camera-based instrument, it is considerably faster when compared to scanner-based 2D barcode readers—it takes only a single second to load the next rack.
In addition, Ziath’s DataPaq™ software makes it easy to export data to XML, JSON, Excel, or text, and also makes it convenient to save the scanned images. The DataPaq™ software can connect with MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, and other similar databases.
DataPaq™ Software Ziath has designed and written the DataPaq™ software in-house. The company uses its own algorithm designed simply for “tube sized” codes—for decoding 2D barcodes.
The DataPaq™ software is not a global and generic “off-the-shelf” algorithm that was simply developed to read a barcode in a supermarket. The sophisticated DataPaq software shows the scan results and can detect the variation between a missing tube (grey), a damaged tube (red), and properly scanned tube (green). Moreover, users can click on any tube image and each scan will be displayed (on the right-hand side) with the barcode and tube location.
