Image Samples and Processed in Real-Time with the Atmosphere

Atmosphere

The Atmosphere system from Protochips offers realistic, environmental temperatures and pressures within the TEM, enabling users to image processes and materials in real-time. The Atmosphere system creates an in situ reaction chamber inside your TEM microscope, allowing atomic resolution imaging of dynamic nanoscale processes under realistic conditions. With self-aligning part, automated workflows and EDS capabilities, the Atmosphere delivers unmatched experiments simplicity, empowering your research to new levels.

Simple

Easily assembled within 15 minutes, the Atmosphere is equipped with self-aligning parts that ensure flawless chip alignment every time. A single O-ring gasket forms a hermetic seal that securely confines gasses between two E-chip membranes, allowing users to have control and image samples at pressures up to 1 atm.

Reliable

The Atmosphere system forms an in situ reaction chamber within the TEM microscope, allowing atomic resolution imaging of dynamic nanoscale processes under realistic settings. Featuring automated workflows, self-aligning parts, and EDS capabilities, the Atmosphere offers unrivaled experiment simplicity, empowering one’s research to great heights.

Powerful

Enhanced for imaging in either TEM or STEM mode, Atmosphere’s patented E-chip assembly allows users to maximize imaging resolution for numerous experiments. The holder also features direct line-of-sight to EDS detectors, enabling elemental analysis in real-time and maximizing counts per second.
