The SZX10 is designed to provide a completely natural view of the specimen with excellent stereo and color representation. The DFPlan series combines high-NA resolving power and working comfort with "distortion-free" optical design for exceptionally flat imaging, and includes a 2x objective lens with an NA of 0.2 for high-resolution imaging at 600 linepair per millimeter.
Wide 10:1 Zoom Ratio
The SZX10 covers a magnification range of 6.3x to 63x with its 1x objective, and offers up to 123x magnification with a 2x objective. Thanks to this wide-ranging 10:1 zoom ratio versatility, it's an ideal choice for life science applications that require low-magnification macro views for dissection and specimen manipulation, and ultra-sharp high-magnification views for close observation of cell structures.
Simple Fluorescence Observation
With the addition of a fluorescence unit, the SZX10 can also be used to observe expressed fluorescence proteins within an organism. The unit's high-performance fluorescence mirror component offers fast startup and high fluorescence detection efficiency for improved image quality.
Digital Imaging and Documentation
The SZX10 can also be equipped with a trinocular tube and Olympus DP series digital camera for high-resolution imaging and research documentation. DP series cameras offer the high sensitivity for a wide range of applications, including high-sensitivity fluorescence imaging, and can be easily controlled using Olympus cellSens software.

The advanced ComfortView eyepieces enable a significantly larger range of eye movement for viewing the 3D image, making both short and long term use much more comfortable. This also makes it easier to form the stereo image, resulting in reduced occurrence of eyestrain. Also, superior optical coatings render true color images with fine detail.
Ergonomic Observation Tube and Extendable Eyepoint Adjuster
The SZX2 series features observation tubes with an optimized convergence angle designed to enable users to make observations from a natural position that minimizes eye fatigue. This solution effectively eliminates eyestrain during long periods of observation.
Our long tilting trinocular tube (SZX2-LTTR) improves the ergonomics of our stereo microscopes. This trinocular can be adjusted from 5 to 45 degrees to facilitate a more natural head and neck position while working.
In addition, the eyepoint adjuster (SZX2-EEPA) enables users to raise or lower the eyepoint within a 120 mm range to accommodate users of different heights. The combination of these reduce stress and fatigue by keeping users in a more natural posture while they’re working.

Ultra-Slim LED Base with Oblique Illumination
The LED base system provides fine control of transmitted illumination for bright and even images. The ultra-slim 40 mm base offers outstanding ergonomic stage height. A novel carousel facilitates selection and control of bright field and dark field illumination, and the long-life LEDs do not heat the stage or sample. The LED illumination system uses a fine shutter system of thin lamellae to produce ultra-precise and completely even oblique illumination.
