¿Cuál es una traqueotomía?

Una traqueotomía es un procedimiento quirúrgico que crea un orificio en la tráquea de una incisión en el dorso del cuello para la instalación de un tubo para respirar. Esto permite al paciente respirar sin el uso de la nariz o de la boca, que son útiles cuando se obstruyen las vías respiratorias superiores.
