Methylation do ADN: Eukaryotes contra Prokaryotes

O methylation do ADN refere o processo de adicionar um grupo metílico às regiões específicas de ADN. Este processo pode causar mudanças na actividade do ADN sem mudar a seqüência dos nucleotides. Embora o methylation do ADN seja sabido para ocorrer desde os anos 50, seus mecanismo e papéis estão ainda sob a investigação.
