The lab of Dr Ali Erturk has recently developed a new tissue-clearing method, ultimate (u)DISCO.

Meet the Presenter
Dr Ali Erturk was born in Turkey, and received his PhD from the Max-Planck-Institute of Neurobiology in Munich, Germany. During his thesis, Dr Erturk developed the 3DISCO method- the first clearing method to study the pathologies of adult CNS tissue. He then joined the postdoctoral program at Genentech Inc. San Francisco, where he focused on synapse degeneration in brain trauma.
Since early 2015, Dr Erturk has led a research group at the Institute for Stroke and Dementia (LMU, University of Munich), where, with his team, he developed the ultimate DISCO method.
