Working with Antibody Arrays

Abcam can provide cytokine and other antibody arrays for over 400 chemokines, cytokines, and other proteins, with these arrays being available for mouse, rat, human and a range of other species.

These antibody arrays provide a highly useful tool to identify key changes in a protein network or pathway. Cytokine arrays, for example, are especially valuable in immunology research.

An antibody array is a multiplex immunoassay that uses the ELISA sandwich antibody pair principle, which allows researchers to detect several proteins within a single experiment. Various capture antibodies are pre-spotted onto a solid surface to bind and capture the analytes in the applied sample. The addition of detection antibodies completes the sandwich complex.

Abcam’s quantitative antibody arrays can quantify up to 40 proteins in each array, with just 50 µL of sample. These can then be analyzed using a microarray laser slide scanner.

Additionally, Abcam’s membrane antibody cytokine arrays allow for the fast screening and profiling of up to 96 proteins per array, using 200 µL to 1 mL of sample. These can then be analyzed in the same way as a chemiluminescent western blot.
