Abcam’s SimpleStep ELISA® kits make analysis simple. The kits use a semi-homogenous method, which allows the antibodies and samples to be added in a single step. This method also results in a better sensitivity than sequential sandwich ELISA formats.
The antibody-sample sandwich forms quickly following mixing before it binds to the plate. The speed of this interaction means that the sample/antibody mixture only needs one hour of incubation.
SimpleStep ELISA Kit
The Simple Step method can also be more sensitive. As shown in Figure 1, the CXCL16 SimpleStep ELISA kit has better sensitivity than a conventional, heterogeneous ELISA kit method, despite this method requiring two additional steps (three in total).

Similarly, increased sensitivity was seen for Enolase 1 (ENO1) (Figure 2).
