Determining Inorganic Anions in Aqueous Matrices

These test methods, which use capillary ion electrophoresis with indirect UV detection, can be used for measuring the concentration of sulfate, ortho-phosphate, nitrate, chloride, bromide, and fluoride ions, dissolved in aqueous matrices. They are applicable for ground water, wastewater, and drinking water samples.

Measurement Method

Capillary zone electrophoresis with indirect UV detection at a wavelength of 254 nm is the basis of this measurement method.

Equipment and Reagents

The CAPEL capillary electrophoresis system from Lumex Instruments is used for these measurements. Data collection, acquisition, output, and processing are carried out with the use of a personal computer running under the Windows® operating system. This must also have the ELFORUN dedicated software package installed. Each of the reagents must be of analytical grade or superior.
