Now, a prospective study of 4,491 patients hospitalized with COVID suggests neurological recovery can take at least a year. A study published in PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases, by Mirdad Kazanji, of the Centre International de Recherches Medicales de Franceville in Gabon, and the Institut Pasteur de la Guyane in French Guiana, suggests that 30 years after the first epidemiological survey of the seroprevalence of Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) infections in Gabon, the country remains highly endemic, with a seroprevalence of 7.3%.

Globus Medical, Inc., today announced that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Premarket Approval (PMA) for the SECURE-C Cervical Artificial Disc. Clinical data from a 380 patient investigational device exemption (IDE) study demonstrate that SECURE-C is statistically superior to anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in terms of overall success, subsequent surgery at the index level, device-related adverse events, and patient satisfaction at 24 months.
