Blending with the container mixer

In the manufacturing of pharmaceutical solids, achieving homogeneity in the mixtures created by container blenders is crucial. The aim is to ensure an even distribution of all components within the mixture.

Since 1987, L.B. Bohle has been manufacturing container blenders for the pharmaceutical industry. Over the years, thousands of these blenders have been constructed, and today, a diverse array of blending systems are utilized daily in the production lines of pharmaceutical companies and contract manufacturers worldwide.

L.B. Bohle is one of the world’s leading firms in the field of container mixers for the pharmaceutical sector, thanks to a successful combination of innovation and construction. It makes no difference whether it is a lab mixer, a container blender, or a system with a container capacity of up to 12,000 liters.

Blending with the Container Blender by L.B. Bohle

The product lineup of L.B. Bohle's container blenders boasts remarkable diversity, achieved through extensive flexibility in both design and production.

Capable of accommodating every conceivable production scenario in the pharmaceutical industry, these blenders are compatible with both round and square containers, thanks to a comprehensive selection of mixer pick-up systems. L.B. Bohle is able to provide the container blenders that users require for a multitude of manufacturing requirements.

Container blenders guarantee homogeneous mixing

The blending elements inside the container lid enable all Bohle blending systems to achieve uniform mixing of dry powder batches. The blending technique is adjustable for amounts ranging from four to 12,000 liters.

Blending or mixing containers of varying sizes can be utilized for maximum versatility. The Bohle blending method ensures that batches with densities ranging from 0.2 to 1.2 kg/l and the effective mixing of batches between 20–85 % are successfully combined.

PM Pharma Blender – Stationary blending device with the following components:

  1. Container blender machine body with load suspension device.
  2. Electrical switch cabinet integrated into the machine body.
  3. A separate installation is available upon request.
  4. Separate operator panel (15“ Touch Panel), Printer/PDF print option.
  5. Safety light barrier or laser scanner available as an option.

The blending operation is a completely enclosed process. Each container is equipped with an inner lid for the purpose of filling. Additionally, the blender serves as a milling station to facilitate material transfer from one container to another.

High flexibility, thanks to a wide range of different container adaptations

L.B. Bohle provides a variety of pick-up systems for their blending systems.

  1. Lifting arm with eccentric clamp, power clamp, and hydraulic clamp
  2. Standard arm connection and clamp
  3. Round forks on the lifting arm

Multiple processes in one system – Blending, optionally with chopping and liquid addition

  1. Blending elements in an intermediate bulk container (IBC)
  2. Closed system, making it ideal for applications involving containment
  3. Optional speed increase is possible following technical confirmation
  4. No cleaning is required between batches
  5. Gentle product movement
  6. Rotates up to 6 rpm
