The physical dimensions of the Eft-90 components are listed in Table 1. This is the preferred layout for ease of use and serviceability. The optimal area is 10 ft by 6 ft, 60 ft2 (5.57 m2). Less space can require some creative solutions. Please advise Anasazi, prior to installation, if space is restricted.
It is important to verify that the floor and elevator (if required) can support the weight of the magnet and moving equipment. The 90 MHz magnet weighs 2018 lbs (915 kg). Floors should be capable of supporting approximately 195 lbs/ft2 (952 kg/m2). Also important is that the hallways and aisles of the path are wide enough to permit manipulating the magnet with a pallet jack.

Electrical Utilities
The Eft does not have any special electrical requirements and comes complete with line surge protection. A dedicated 120 V (± 10 %) 60 Hz 20 amp circuit with two outlets (four receptacles) is ideal but not absolutely necessary. A minimum of one outlet (two receptacles) on a 120 V (± 10 %) 60 Hz 10 amp circuit adjacent to the spectrometer is required. Table 2 provides the power consumption of each component of the instrument at 115 V.

Air Supply
A clean, stable dry-air supply is required. This requirement is met with a filtered “house” air system or with a small, dedicated air pump capable of provide 1 cfm @ 10 psi is required. Anasazi Instruments can supply ordering information on request or, for an additional cost, deliver an optional air source at the time of installation.
Climatic Environment
The primary concern for control of the site climatic environment is associated with the stability of the magnetic field and proper sample spinning. With excessive variation in room conditions, the built-in temperature regulation of the magnet unit can be exceeded, resulting in magnetic field drift. In general, the room housing the spectrometer should be temperature controlled in the range of 60 °F to 80 °F (15.6 °C to 26.7 °C) with short-term variation being less than 3.6 °F (2 °C) per day. High humidity can lead to water condensation in the air system and spinning problems. A relative humidity of 50 % or less is recommended. If these specifications are not attainable, you should anticipate additional monitoring and adjustment of the magnetic field during routine operation.
Magnetic Environment
The instrument should not be in proximity to large electric motors, which can interfere due to stray electric and magnet fields. Although this is an atypical situation, larger buildings with large air handlers and blowers as well as other large motors can produce such interferences. Such facilities in close proximity (alongside, above, or below) of the room being considered should be avoided. Anasazi can perform a site evaluation free of charge.
Health Risks
The stray magnetic field level does not exceed the 5 Gauss level for any magnet, EM360, EM390, Aii-60 or Aii-90. Therefore, no health precautions for pacemaker wearers are necessary.
General Conditions
To expedite the installation, it is helpful that the installation site be clean and relatively free of excess equipment. For moving a magnet to upper floors, an elevator is required. All doorways must have at least a 36 inch width for a 90 MHz magnet. Customers having a magnet upgraded (EM360 or EM390) should have the magnet plugged in at least 1 week prior to the installation.
