Rebecca has spent her working life in medical communications. With a career that has spanned three continents, she has a breadth of experience in a variety of roles covering numerous therapeutic areas.
After graduating with a conjoint BA/B.Sc. from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, she reported clinical trial insights in Auckland before migrating to London where she began her medical copywriting career, eventually becoming a freelance medical writer in China. She has developed pharmaceutical formulary submissions for key opinion leaders in the UK, abstracts reporting clinical trial results for specialists in New Zealand and web apps for patients in the USA.
She enjoys the variety that writing brings, with areas of research including type 2 diabetes, anticoagulation therapy, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Rebecca has since returned to her home country to further her education, attaining first-class Honours in Biomedical Science, and still resides in the wine capital of New Zealand. She now engages in more hands-on medical study as a Research Associate in plant pathology and as a volunteer ambulance officer.
In her free time, she can be found swimming, hiking, and continuing to satiate her love of medical writing and everything science.
