IMD receives EPO patent for NADiA ultra-sensitive protein detection and cell phenotyping platform

NJIT researchers awarded 15 new U.S. patents for research programs

NJIT researchers were awarded 15 new U.S. patents this past year, increasing the total number of issued patents for NJIT to 97. More than 150 applications are in process. With projected research expenditures greater than $90 million for 2010-11, NJIT ranks as a leader in size and growth of research programs among technological universities. Ben-Gurion University of the Negev students have developed an innovative optical radar system that helps blind people maneuver around obstacles. The radar system incorporates a computer, two video cameras and a scanning light source to warn the blind of obstacles with audible alerts. The system detects obstacles -- even those overhead -- by scanning the depth of its surroundings, taken from two different angles - similar to that of the human eye.

Cermetek Microelectronics launches UL 60601-1 compliant modem module

Cermetek Microelectronics, Inc. today announced the CH24606 modem module. The CH24606, a V.22bis modem module (2400 bits per second), is the first Cermetek modem designed to comply with UL 60601-1 requirements for medical equipment safety.
