Diplomat, the country's largest independent specialty pharmacy, announced today it is one of five specialty pharmacies selected as a provider of IMBRUVICA (ibrutinib) capsules, approved Nov. 13 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of Mantle Cell Lymphoma.

FDA approves ibrutinib for treatment of mantle cell lymphoma

Today's U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of ibrutinib to treat patients with mantle cell lymphoma is a significant advance for patients with this blood cancer. It was approved as a single agent for treatment of patients with MCL who have received at least one prior therapy.

Researchers identify molecular pathway linking ICU ventilation to brain damage

At least 30 percent of patients in intensive care units (ICUs) suffer some form of mental dysfunction as reflected in anxiety, depression, and especially delirium. In mechanically-ventilated ICU patients, the incidence of delirium is particularly high, about 80 percent, and may be due in part to damage in the hippocampus, though how ventilation is increasing the risk of damage and mental impairment has remained elusive.
