Allocate Software plc (AIM:ALL), the leading provider of workforce optimisation solutions, and NHS Professionals, the largest provider of flexible staff managed services to the NHS, are pleased to announce the renewal of a contract for the provision of the StaffBank application.

The original agreement between NHS Professionals and Baum Hart and Partners (BHP), has been renewed with Allocate Software following the acquisition of BHP in December 2008. The transaction-based agreement secures the long term support of the StaffBank application that underpins the service provided by NHS Professionals, whilst ensuring the NHS only incur costs as benefits are delivered.

Earlier in the year, NHS Professionals and Allocate Software announced the availability of an Application Programming Interface ("API"), enabling electronic rostering solutions to automatically pass bank staff requests to the NHS Professionals StaffBank solution.

NHS Professionals have a flexible workforce of over 48,000 and are working with over 80 NHS Trusts across the UK providing nursing and clerical staff services.

Neil Lloyd, CEO of NHS Professionals commented: "We are pleased to be continuing our work with Allocate Software and building on our ability to help Trusts drive efficiency from their flexible workforce; reducing cost whilst maintaining patient safety."

Commenting on the contract renewal, Ian Bowles, Allocate Software's CEO said: "We are delighted that NHS Professionals, after careful consideration and detailed discussions have committed to the long term use of StaffBank as the software application of choice to support the services they provide to NHS Trusts. This agreement demonstrates Allocate Software's long term commitment to the NHS. Our goal is to continue working with the NHS to design and build solutions that can be quickly deployed and are easy to use, whilst at the same time delivering significant ROI, helping to improve efficiency, reduce costs and achieve optimum levels of patient care."
