Haemonetics settles patent infringement suit against STRADIS-MED

Haemonetics GmbH (NYSE: HAE) today announced settlement of its pending legal action against STRADIS-MED GmbH and its General Manager, Jochen Kirchner, for the infringement of two German utility models of Haemonetics (DE 200 10 825 U1 and DE 203 10 937 U1) related to Haemonetics' plasma technology.

Effective immediately, STRADIS-MED and Mr. Kirchner committed not to market the infringing plasma bottle in Germany and Austria.

Mikael Gordon, Haemonetics' President Global Markets said, "Haemonetics has a history of creating innovative devices and solutions that have changed the way blood is collected and processed.  The settlement reinforces the value and importance of intellectual property in our industry.  We remain committed to working closely with our customers and the blood collection community globally to provide innovative products and solutions to serve their needs, and will continue to protect our substantial investment in new technologies and blood management offerings by enforcing our intellectual property rights."
