    Why not just of Native American descent (FYI, A member of any of the indigenous peoples of the Americas, not Native to the United States)?

    Why the obfuscation about Mexicans being of Native American descent? What is so bothersome about this notion?

    Also, the use of tribe here is primarily used to denote a cultural inferiority. Large swaths of Native Americans in Mexico and Central American lived in Nation-States, specifically cities. Why not use the term tribes to describe some of the people across Europe?
