Having seen a Mother Superior die from cervical cancer any lesbian who has been heterosexually active is crazy not to have Pap smears done. The woman in question was widowed at 25, became a nun subsequently and died at 6o from cancer produced by HPV received during intercourse before her husband died. Research shows that if cancer is picked up from smears survival is 95% but if from symptoms only 5%. For women never heterosexually active smears are probably unnecessary.
