I have a friend w/ PD & the DR. changed his meds to L-D c. 3 months ago.  I do not know why, but I have noticed a marked decline in his mood/psychiatric state - depression, detachment, silence and lethargy primarily - whereas he used to be up-beat, funny, thoughtful and his periods of alertness were far more frequent and long-lasting.  I see no improvement in the overall motor abilities - in fact, his periods of immobility are greater.  He is not on anti-depressants, and he should be.  Why is there not more concentration on the psychological aspects of this disease and side-effects of L-D?  A person's quality of life is far better gaged by their mental, rather than physical. health!  It is far better to be unsteady and laugh than it is to be steadier and morose!  Thank you for looking at this aspect of PD.
