    I received tPa within 2 hours of my second stroke, the results wee amazing and I regained use of my right side although arriving at the hospital with right dystonia.  They should never give on on administering tPa despite  the potentially dangerous side effect (bleeding issues).  I am still a fan of tPA and advise all potential stroke patients to get tot he Hospital ASAP, do not wait, the longer you wait the less chance you will have of being given tPa.  You have about a 2-3 hour window.  learn the symtoms, monitor your blood pressure and the least sign of he symptoms especially when associated with hypertension get to the ER immediately
