    I have a Gore Septal Occluder that was implanted on January 11, 2011. I couldn't agree more with this article. The previous option that was going to be implanted was made of a nickel alloy that had a high nickel content. I am allergic to nickel so when Gore got approval it became my cardiologist's first choice and a chance for me to avoid open heart surgery. As a patient, I am grateful to the people who developed this device and certainly owe them my life.

    I doubt that anyone can outdo this little gadget. Nothing is perfect but the Gore Septal Occluder certainly comes close. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
