    Maybe the public has less confidence in the notion of 'effective treatments' for problems that have at least in part been clearly linked to social causes such as inequality and poverty, than for physical conditions. The equation is not as simple as 'mental illness-seek treatment-get cure' campaigns would have us believe, whether the proposed treatment is pharmacological or psychtherapeutic.
