    Autism is a spectrum, and the difficulty an autistic child has in the world is related to both the severity of their condition and the amount of support they receive.  "Autism" is receiving more recognition and support than ever before, I have a hard time believing that 1:88 children in 1965 had the same severity of Autism that is being documented today.
