    It's interesting how language effects us and I do agree with the theme of this article, but some terms can also make more serious conditions seem less serious as well. For example, the word hypochondriasis has been replaced with somatic symptom disorder and illness anxiety disorder. Hypochondriasis can be a debilitating mental disorder in which you believe you have an illness whether you present symptoms or not. However, the new terms make it seem like even if you have severe issues with hypochondria, it just comes down to "faking it" and you should "just get over it." In reality, it could be a sign that the individual needs to get help with their mental health.
