    As a patient who was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy and had the obstruction removed by Open-heart septal ablasion, I now live with HCM since the heart muscle remains thickened. I was told by several Cardiologists that the definitive test to diagnose HOCM/HCM is an Echocardiogram that measures the outflow of the heart. No Ultrasound or X-ray was truely conclusive as the Echo was. I do have Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB) and it shows up on every EKG, but that is onlu one sign or indicaor. Why would you NOT get the sure test. One of my childern has it but neither of them want to find out.
