Until all genital cutting of children is illegal parents need to be fully informed and most are not...   Why not let the parents watch a video of a circumcision, be accurately described the risks... like over 100 boys die in the USA each year from blood loss, infection, aspiration, heart attack, the surgery is very painful and the trauma from it can interrupt breast feeding.   Some boys require additional surgery have adhesion's, need antibiotics from infection, need additional surgery due to Mental Stenosis (a complication I had as a child).  loose their entire or part of their penis..  some need reconstructive surgery, may suffer from excess tissue removed so later in life may have painful erections with spiting of skin since there is not enough tissue for erection.  Circumcision DOES make the penis slightly shorter and thinner i know no man that wants a shorter thinner penis.  less is NOT more.. circumcised men  Have less sexual pleasure since over 20,000 nerve endings are removed and 240 feet of nerves  The gliding action of the foreskin is gone, the head of the penis that normally is a internal organ is now external so it becomes dry and insensitive drastically reducing his sexual pleasure.  The majority of circumcised men incapable of multiple orgasms.. i have been told by many intact(uncircumcised) men they are able to have multiple orgasms just like women..  and think when he is and adult and decides to see what happened to him and watches a circumcision video how will he feel about what you did to him.. Why not let him decide when he is an adult if he wants his sex life altered with surgery..  Adult circumcision had much less risks you are operating on a fully formed larger penis he can be given proper anesthesia and pain medicine.  A baby does not have that option since Anesthesia in a infant can kill him and even if a local anesthetic is given (shots in his penis ouch!) you can not fully anesthetize since the dorsal nerve can not be blocked.. then the baby can not be given pain medicine afterwards.. I believe the complication rate of circumcision is 100% since everyone getting a circumcision is damaged in some way.. While leaving your baby whole with his foreskin no complications..



   They continue the cutting because it has become a traditional thing to do in America parents need to be informed as to what will be done and not take this decision lightly..   But the rest of the world over 70% of males in the entire world are NOT circumcised...  We would not consider cutting the genitals of our girls but we do that to our boys when BOTH are harmful and i see no difference...  

I will never understand why we are having this discussion... we are talking about cutting the genitals of children...  it should be obvious this is not a good thing to do..
