Sorry to bring the hate, but this article is not factually correct.  The article states "For the millions of sufferers of dry eye syndrome, their only recourse to easing the painful condition is to use drug-laced eye drops three times a day."  Many dry eye sufferers do not have their painful condition eased by using eye drops three times a day.  For many, even dozens of applications of eye drops do not bring relief.  Hopefully this product will help some, but it seems like a different solution, such as repairing the faulty glands around the eyes would be more appropriate rather than delivering more chemicals to the eye, whose long-term effects are unknown.  Hopefully clinical trials on the use of the particles being in contact with the eye will be a long-term study to help establish whether or not having chemicals in the eye for prolonged periods is safe over many years, and not just over a short period.
