    The IOM failed utterly in regards to the amount of vitamin D we humans require.

    Instead of a meaningless 800 i.u. (as much vitamin D that the human body makes in 45(forty five)  seconds of high angle sun, bathing suit).

    The failed by an order of magnitude.

    Humans tolerate daily doses of at least 10,000 i.u. with no complications.

    The IOM should never have been allowed to rule on this issue as NONE of the panel members knew anything about vitamin D. What little knowledge they had was completely WRONG.
