    Okay! First tell us how many pills are too many? Some people require a lot of pills, some not so many and some not any at all. Some people take pills because they need them, while other people take unnecessary pills being pushed by their doctors so the doctor can get a free all expenses paid holiday to some off-beat medical convention paid for by the drug companies. In my mind a good start would be to sort out necessary from unnecessary treatments. Then and only then will we find out if we are taking too many pills or not.

      I agree with you Trevor. We need to separate needful from unnecessary to get the actual picture...rise in chronic disease like diabetes and heart disease mandates the use of so many medications that a rise in total numbers can really be misleading...however these figures give a general idea andcan serve better vigilance in this regard...
