    Not just high-risk HPVs, but also supposed low-risk HPVs such as HPV6 have been implicated in oropharyngeal cancer. This means that 1) They underestimated the rates of infection and 2) did not take into account the effects of multiple infections. And, the higher rate of recurrence could be due to later diagnosis, which gave it more time to spread. They do not address these issues.
