    The sad fact is that the majority of the small number of vocal opponents of wind energy are driven primarily by misguided ideas of loss of amenity or envy in that while their neighbours will receive an income from turbines, they will miss out.

    I live near a wind farm and it's interesting that two of the most vocal opponents have received payouts/compensation, yet they have chosen to live only slightly further away from the windfarms. Meanwhile, other people have moved into properties right next to the same wind farms and have told me directly that they have no problems with the turbines whatsoever. So much for the health effects.

    Unless or until wind farm opponents can provide credible, peer-reviewed evidence supporting their claims, it would pay to be very sceptical about anything they say.
