    I was in the last polio epidemic in the U.S. when I was 3 years old. I was paralyzed from my neck down, recovered to the point of wearing one full leg brace most of life and now have post-polio syndrome and can no longer walk. It breaks my heart that children can still get polio in some parts of the world. I hope that GA Tech and the CDC are successful in their efforts to develop the patch vaccine and get polio eradicated from the world once and for all.
