DFG to form new collaborative research centers as of 1 July 2011

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) will establish 21 new Collaborative Research Centres (CRCs) as of 1 July 2011. This was decided by the relevant Grants Committee at its spring meeting in Bonn.

Scientists discover new compound that inhibits bitterness

Although bitterness can sometimes be desirable - such as in the taste of coffee or chocolate - more often bitter taste causes rejection that can interfere with food selection, nutrition and therapeutic compliance. This is especially true for children. Energy and Sports drinks not for children

According to pediatricians, children must not be given energy drinks with potentially harmful caffeine levels. They need to understand the difference between energy drinks and sports drinks.
