Solta Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: SLTM) today announced the launch of its new Fraxel re:store(R) Dual system, providing superior results for large body areas during a single treatment. Prior to the non-ablative Fraxel re:store Dual system, laser skin resurfacing procedures were largely limited to the face. The Fraxel re:store Dual takes the industry leading fractional laser technology to the next level by adding a novel 1927 nm wavelength, the first ever application of a Thulium laser in the aesthetics market, optimized for treatment of pigmentation and other superficial skin conditions.
"The expanded versatility of the Fraxel re:store Dual system, with the addition of the new 1927 nm wavelength, increases the areas of the body that I can treat and provides a superior treatment for pigmentation and actinic keratoses associated with photodamage," said Roy Geronemus, MD, director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York.
Vic Narurkar, MD, founder of the Bay Area Laser Institute added, "The Fraxel re:store Dual allows me to offer patients the safety, comfort and minimal downtime of a non-ablative treatment, and achieve results superior to superficial fractional CO2 treatments."
The product launch comes on the heels of Solta's announcement last week of the new Thermage CPT(TM) system for skin tightening and body contouring. Together, these cutting edge developments further secure Solta's leadership position in the aesthetic energy device industry.
