Prescription Solutions launches consumer website that features updated content and drug pricing tool

Prescription Solutions, a leading pharmacy benefits management organization and a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company, today announced the launch of its refreshed consumer website, www.PrescriptionSolutions.com, featuring enhanced functionality, updated content, and simplified navigation. The site makes prescription drug information more accessible and provides education customers need to make informed health care choices.

Once registered, customers can use the site to refill prescriptions, manage their account, review their benefits and order over-the-counter items and medical supplies. Jacqueline Kosecoff, PhD., chief executive officer of Prescription Solutions, said, "We have made a commitment to bring our customers a superior online experience in order to help them more readily access the information they need to leverage their health care dollars and make informed medication choices."

PrescriptionSolutions.com features a “dashboard” format unique to major PBMs which serves as a personalized home page for registered users. On a single screen, customers can find all of their relevant prescription and account information for simple and fast access. From the dashboard, customers can refill and renew their prescriptions, get account information, track order status and more. An integrated calendar helps customers plan their prescription refills and renewals, as well, and can be downloaded to personal calendars such as Microsoft Outlook®.

The new content and functionality added to the website - the result of input from focus groups, usability studies and customer interviews - includes a drug pricing tool that provides users with pricing information about drugs they currently take, or those for which they would like additional information. The real-time tool for Medicare Part D customers compares retail vs. mail order and brand vs. generic pricing, taking into account the Medicare Part D coverage gap.

In addition, customers can also quickly and easily access other valuable features, including drug lookup, a pharmacy locator, plus other educational resources from UnitedHealth Group’s health and wellness company OptumHealth, including a drug interaction calculator, a symptom checker, a disease and conditions tool and a drug guide. An Online Website Video Tour is available for viewing.
