Composite Software, the leading provider of data virtualization software, today announced that a senior executive from Pfizer (a Composite customer) and a senior Composite executive will present at the Butler Group’s Business Intelligence (BI) Symposium. “BI Foundations for Decision-Making Excellence and Risk Management” is scheduled for October 7-8, 2009, at the America Square Conference Centre in London.

In his 30-minute presentation beginning at 3:45 p.m. (15.45 GMT) on Wednesday, Oct. 7, Mr. Peter Green, business integration director, Pfizer Portfolio Management and Analytics, will introduce the dynamic and complex R&D environment at the world’s largest research-based pharmaceutical company. Having implemented data virtualization into its R&D process, Pfizer is now able to respond to new business analysis requirements in just hours.

“With data virtualization, Pfizer has achieved a unified, virtually integrated view of its core information assets, providing key decision makers with the information they need to manage the business,” said Green. “I believe the strategies we have used to harness the strengths of Composite data virtualization are applicable across multiple industries, and that’s the message I intend to deliver at the Butler BI Symposium.”

Mr. Ian Pestell, director of European Technical Operations at Composite Software, will conduct three consecutive labs on Thursday, Oct. 8, under the umbrella theme, “Flexible Data Integration Strategies.” His first session, “Accelerate BI with Data Virtualization,” begins at 10:50 a.m. (10.50 GMT), and will showcase practical examples of how organizations use data virtualization’s rapid development and deployment to meet BI needs faster. The second, “Enhance Your Data Warehouse with Data Virtualization,” begins at 11:30 a.m. (11.30 GMT), and will cover seven methods for adding value with data virtualization to existing enterprise data warehouses. The third, “Agile SAP BI,” begins at 12:10 p.m. (12.10 GMT), and will focus on how to overcome SAP data complexity to best support BI needs.
