iTech Medical, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: IMSU; FWB: 0IM), a medical information technology company, today provided an update on the Company's clinical and regulatory plans for its proprietary Muscle Pattern Recognition (MPR) System. MPR is a patented clinical tool that analyzes patterns of muscle recruitment. MPR provides detailed physiological information on muscle function that can assist in the diagnosis and treatment of back and neck injuries and illness.
iTech Medical is currently conducting a clinical trial of the MPR System at the Utah Spine and Joint Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The trial began in February 2009 and to date, the Company has completed testing on more than 250 study subjects, many with chronic back pain. The Company stated that patient recruitment for the balance of the trial is being shifted to test subjects with recent, acute back injuries to allow for a more rigorous testing of the MPR data analysis system.
"The results of the clinical trial to date are very encouraging and we look forward to completing the study in the early part of 2010," stated Dr. Alan Goldman, Vice President, Clinical and Medical Affairs at iTech Medical. "Following the trial, we plan to submit our results to the FDA and to several peer-review journals for publication."
